Distribution of Nationalities

        Most minority nationality populations in the urban area of Qiqihar City inhabit together with Han nationality population. As for historical reasons, national traditional customs and implementation of the national policies from the party, there are 3 minority nationality compact living townships and 28 minority nationality compact living villages. Among the 25 minority nationality populations of Qiqihar City, the populations of Manchu, Dawor, Huis, Korean and Mongolian, etc are enjoying majorities. Among them, the Manchu population is mainly distributed in 6 townships of Jianhua District, Angangxi District and Tiefeng District; the population of Dawor is mainly distributed in 6 townships of Meilisi and Fularji; the population of the Huis is mainly distributed in 3 districts of Jianhua, Longsha and Tiefeng; the population of Korean is mainly distributed in 5 townships (towns) of Meilisi District, Angangxi District and Longsha District; the population of Mongolian is mainly distributed in 5 villages and (farms) of Tiefeng District, Meilisi District and Jianhua District.

Korean
        The Korean ancestors are Koreans migrated into Northeast of China from the peninsula of Korea. The earliest immigrants into China from Korea were more than 300 year ago. Koreans have their own language and characters.

Dawor
        Dawor people are the offspring of Qidan people. Dawor people were mostly distributed in south of Outer Xing'an Mountains and Jingqili River valley and the north bank of Heilongjiang River before the middle period of the 17th century. There were two Dawor tribes respectively of Solunbu and Sahar.

The Huis
        The Huis is the shorten form of Huis Nationality. Its ancestors are mainly the throngs of Huis in east migration after the three west campaigns launched by the Mongolians in the 13th century and the Muslim Immigrants lived in southeastern coasts of Chin in Tang and Song Dynasty. The Huis was gradually formed after absorbing living customs from Han, Mongolian and Uygur by means of many factors such as intermarriage, etc during the long historical process. Chinese is the common language of the Huis. The Huis had preserved some Arabian and Farsi vocabularies in the routine communications and religious activities.

Khalkhas
        Nuolaozi Festival is a grand festival of Khalkhas, which is held in the first month of each lunar year.

Manchu
        Manchu is a brave and hardworking nationality and the Manchu people inhabit and multiplying generations after generations in northeast area endowed with mountains and rivers. Manchu has a long history. The Suzhen in Pre-Qin period; the Mohe in Sui and Tang Dynasty and the Jurchen in Liao, Song, Yuan and Ming Dynasty were all ancestors of the Manchu people.

Mongolian
        Mongolian is a legendary nationality with a long history. They Mongolians are living a nomad life that is Migrating Following the Water Source and Prairie over hundreds of years.

Xibo Nationality
        Hair Hanmafa Worship
         Xibo people don't only have a Xili Mama that blesses the safety of the family but also have a Hair Hanmafa god that blesses the livestocks.
